<< <i>yeah, what the stinky Canadian said. Is this for one a them new coffee table books? >>
Here's a book for you g.
<< <i>well, here's a weird thought....you find out where all the old HOFer's are buried are then you go hang around the plot on a special anniversary date when you know that family members will be there to grieve, so you catch them in a weak moment and ask if there's any stuff laying around the house, like GU equipment or championship rings or trophies.
remember, just a thought.
Or it might go something like this:
Grave groupie: Excuse me Mrs. Mantle. So sorry for your loss. Do you happen to have anything of Mickey's at the house that he didn't already give away to that whore Greer Johnson?
Merlyn Mantle: How crude of you to ask me that at a time like this.
Grave groupie: If you do have something for me I promise I wont tell anyone you came here and spat on Mickey's stone.
Merlyn Mantle: OK, stop by the house at 2 and you can have his '56 MVP award.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

Remember these Chuck Norris Facts
1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
Norm Van Brocklin I think was Eagle Butte, South Dakota or Yankton, SD
Marion Motley buried in Evergreen Memorial Park Bedford OH.
Joe Stydahar buried in Shinniston Masonic Cem., Shinniston, WV.
William Clarke Hinkle buried in Toronto Union Cem. Toronto OH.
Roosevelt Brown buried in Lincoln Cem. Charlottesville VA.
Now what do I win?
edited to say: Good luck Rocke , on finding all the information you need to complete your project.

Now, there are a ton of stupid questions that get asked. Ones with obvious answers and/or ones that are asked at least once a week. I'm as guilty as the next guy of being a total douche to some of these posters that are too lazy to research or use the search function.
However, in this case, Rocke (BellagioPokerKing) may be one of the best and most helpful posters on these boards. Alas, he's not very active in this cesspool, but the folks that derided his question and mocked his intentions need to get a friggin' grip. I think I have an idea where Rocke is headed with this project, and while it may not be my cup of tea, it is something that interests him (and I'm sure a few others).
To those that were such azzes, perhaps you should apologize to Rocke and take the time to get to know him. He is one of the most passionate and informed collectors with regard to NFL Hall of Fame players.
Rocke: Best of luck with your project and don't let these folks get you down. They start dripping over cardboard images of the likes of Pujols (and don't think twice about it) and couldn't tell the difference between Marion Motley and Motley Crue.
The spending reams of money thing just wasn't getting the job done.

Who is this Pujols and when what NFL team does he play for ?
<< <i>Who is this Pujols and when what NFL team does he play for ? >>
I think some of the respondents were talking out their collective Pujols on this one...
Good luck gathering the images, Rocke. They'll make a nice addition to your tremendous collection.
Welcome to the glass-house subdivision. Rocks are in ample supply.

Oh, I think UD would go a little lower if they could...about four feet lower.
I apologize for my dumb post, good luck with your project Rocke.
Rocke, my apologies for my irreverence about your project. Without knowing exactly why you're asking, I was semi-serious about a coffee-table book. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I read your post, and it's not all that off-base (at least to me).
At any rate, good luck with your research and whatever it's for.

Obviously just my take.
<< <i>Isn't it possible that these men (or their survivors) don't want their final resting places "compiled" so that maybe they can get the peace and anonymity in death that their celebrity never afforded them in their waking life?
Obviously just my take. >>
Considering that a majority of the regulars on these boards wouldn't know who half of them are, I seriously doubt that there is going to be a stampede to their gravesites...
Obviously just my take...
Whew, he didnt mean me.

In all respect, Nick, which of these friggin' NFL football players do you think sought peace and anonymity, and not celebrity? Cripes, the guy just asked where they're buried. Maybe I'm not 100% cynical yet, but I'm inclined to think someone who asks such a question has respect in mind and not exploitation. I'm not even sure how he WOULD exploit it. Would I want to know if anyone from the T218 set is buried in Cincy... within a few minutes of where I drive every day? Abso-friggin'-lutely, and I'd be there in a heartbeat to check it out. I don't see the harm in that.
Thanks guys.
Bryon, you may be right that these players wanted the celebrity, but that's why I added their survivors.
All I know is that if my dad was a deceased HOF player, and I was at his grave site with my 4 year old daughter paying our respects, the last thing I would want is to see a bunch of guys trampling on through saying things like "whoa can you believe that Jack "no nose" Magurski is buried right there"
<< <i>I am not judging the OP's reasons for wanting this info. What he does with it is his business. He can polish each headstone if he likes. I saw an odd request and made a quick joke like I have before and probably will again.

Your last name is Magurski? How funny is that?!?!?!?
OK, but I guess we differ in that aspect as well. If it was my dad, I'd love to see lots of people there.
<< <i>Your last name is Magurski? How funny is that?!?!?!?
Sadly we had to shorten it to Magurs for peace and anonymity's sake.
<< <i>This is one of the biggest problems with the board.

Everyone,.... WOW.... I don't know where to begin. First of all, THANK YOU Scott, for this post. I REALLY do appreciate it. YOU are a CLASS person. The world needs many more like you. Since quite a number of people responded in such a joking or negative manner , I'm guessing that they have not read much on the thread that I do post on, that's fine. Let me introduce myself.... I live in Canton , Ohio, and have a pretty good Hall of Fame collection going. I have autographs of 255/ 260 Football Hall of Famers. I would conservatively give the QUALITY of my 255 autographs a 9.5/10. I have one of the 51 Goal Line Art "GOLD" sets still in existence, which makes up the bulk of my collection. Most of the rest of my auto's is either virtually perfect cancelled checks, or non-personalized, unlined, right in the middle of the index card, ink 3 x 5 cards. I have Len Fords 1956 contract with the Cleveland Browns, and I also own ,what I feel is the nicest Walt Kiesling autograph in existence, the Pittsburgh Steeler letter that sold on Heritage auction in May 2006. I am fortunate to have such a nice collection, and I know it. I also have many other items that are HoF related.
No, I don't post all the time. Only if I have something relevant to say. I know there are many people that post almost non-stop, just to pump up their #, but that's not me.
NOBODY owes me an apology. I am lucky in that I have a number of relatives around the country, and do a little bit of traveling around the country. My son, Ben, is 12 years old, and has had his picture taken with approx. 125 LIVING Hall of Famers, including at least one member of EVERY Hall of Fame class EXCEPT 1963, 1964, and 2005.
Now, the next time I'm in Los Angeles I can stop by and visit the gravesite of Bob Waterfield or the next time I go down to the CSA show, maybe I can stop by and pay my repects where Rosie Brown is.
Finally, I want to Thank Diamondman, Elsnorto, and Scott for giving me the info that you have given me. I do appreciate it. There are still a number of deceased hall of Famers that I need a location on...... so if anyone else can come up with the info that I still need, I would be grateful.

We Magurski's are private bunch.
Now get your ass in gear with some T218's and resuscitate that thread.

Hah! I'm tempted every day, but I think you, Griffins and I are the only ones who read it. I'll PM you instead.

Easy there Rocke . . . the last time my name and class were used together when I was late for a theology class in college.
BTW, will you be in Baltimore? LMK and I'll drop you my cell # if you want to grab a burger...
