Guy comes in and asks for buy price on Mex 50 P.
Dlr quotes.
Guy hands over 2 flips with an Onza under the 50P.
They're REEEEALLLL close in appearance. Even size is close.
Dlr pays for two 50 Pesos coins.
Gets had.

What if it had been another 50 peso but had been badly damaged? Holed? Tooled?
Even if it was 22k gold plated he should have noticed it.

<< <i>Wait. Dealer was too busy to give even an instantaneous glance at the coin beneath to see that it was a $19 ounce of silver rather than a $1435 ounce and a fifth of gold?

It was a GOLD Onza under the 50p.
<< <i>I weigh each piece if I don't know the customer , just common sense. >>
No need in this case. They have different legends.

It's the dealer's own dang fault for not being careful.
I once had a guy come in with a tube of Maple Leafs with the tube cut down so that it held nine maple leafs tightly. Said he wanted to sell ten maple leafs. I opened the tube, not noticing that it had been cut down, laid them out on a tray and counted nine. He professed ignorance, and said that he had bought it that way and been cheated.
