I think it is a week or two. If they don't (SportLot's) get payment then an automated e-mail is sent to the buyer as a reminder. After so long he will cancel the order. You can check the history of the buyer to see if they pay or not.
I think it allows you to order the items and send payment via mail.
Traffic on sportlots is so little it likely does not matter if an item or two does not show up for a week or two.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Pending payment is a way to keep costs low, which is why listings are free and auctions are only 15 cents flat.
Sportlots allows a buyer a little time to bundle all of their payments into one lump some. For example, the buyer buys card(s) from 12 different sellers, he then pays for all of it in one payment. Sportlots is only charged one transaction fee instead of 12, saving them money and in the long run..you.
Sportlots may not have traffic, but the "hassle" factor is a lot less, plus with feebay charging more and more every day, it is a way to sell of those low dollar or even common cards. It may not be much, but for something that doesnt take a lot of time and no investment, I have sold over $300 in cards that i would have never sold on ebay in the past 11 months and havent had to worry about someone jacking me, especially on a 18 cent transaction.
The main thing sportlots is good for is completing sets or player collectors. I have sold over 100 A & G cards (2007-2009) in the part two months from set collectors looking to complete their sets. Not a lot of money, but as opposed to having boxes full of cards, it beats nothing.
Edited to Add: The above information is true for paypal payments. Sportlots does allow buyers and sellers the option of other payment options.

<< <i>How long does Sportlots let a pending payment sit there? Bad thing is that it makes the inventory show as not available. >>
I don't understand???
Is Sportslots your own store, or do you just keep it in your sigline?
Aren't pending payments due to e-checks or unvarified accounts? And don't they all have a due date?
