It's there - location just moved. Check the bottom of the page now, instead of up near the top.
  • ok, thanks

glad they did it ... I kept thinking to myself for years, that with this move, Ebay would be PERFECT

That would almost be a good idea. I am so sick of auctions disappearing because someone made an offer to the seller to end the auction early. I have lost many items that I really wanted this way. I think a better idea would be to make any contact with the seller public within the auction and if an offer to close the auction early was made than appropriate action would be taken.

If it was ended and changed to a buy it now so that the person could purchase then ebay would still get a fee and could care less. Chances are most that end early are not changed to a buy it now but some are.

There have been times when I TOO made offers to end auctions early. Thats when you REALLY want an item.

Yeah, I make offers for cards all the time and don't feel bad about it.

Heck, many times I've been turned down only the win the auction for less than my offer.

I love it when people get the chance to stick it to ebay.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I will accept ANY offer on my cards!! I have quickly learned that the offer is always WAY higher than what the bidding will ever get to. What happened to the Ebay card market??

Ebay card market?? What happened to the entire hobby!! Price Guides and Ebay can be fools gold, so watch out. It's only worth what someone will pay for it.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I have had offers on Ebay (when I do BIN/OBO), and they are ALWAYS less than what ASC pays for cards. What incentive do I have to sell on Ebay, when I can just wholesale them to a card dealer, and not have to pay any fees?? I am beginning to think I can make a steady income just buying high end cards off of Ebay and then consigning them to REA!

That means ASC is paying too much, and either doesnt know it, or will know soon, or will be buying them from Ebay soon enough if that's the case.

I don't think so. They are a store, that puts out a monthly publication. They seem to do a great job of buying and selling cards. Ebay is more of a "fire sale" mentality lately. I don't look to them to set the standard for card prices (for their auctions anyway), as they are only as good as who sees the auction during that week. That is why you see the same cards sell thru auction format get flipped for $100 more the very next week thru Ebay!! It also explains why you see more BIN instead of auctions.

The last 2 vintage sets I sold on ebay made me $1200 and $1000 respectively, one of them I bought directly from BBCE, got a few of them graded, listed it with 75+ scans, and then sold it for a $1000 profit. The market is still there if you know what to buy, buy it for the right amount, and then know how to sell it.

Hey now you haven't got paid yet so you cannot count that as a sale.

Corvette, did you sell it as a BIN/BO or a 99 cent auction?

99 cent, no reserve. I run all my listings this way. I've found that it's by far the best when it comes to vintage sets.

EBAY doesn't want anyone contacting anyone when it's said and done.--Too much off site sales potential.

Corvette...can I see a link to your auction? Maybe it will give me some pointers as to what I am doing wrong?
