Just showing off some 1954 Dan Dees

I got these recently. They are headed to PSA tomorrow. I have never seen Dan Dees this nice. For those that don't know, these are VERY TOUGH to get in high grade.

I have a total of 16. These are a sampling.

Holy Crap. To unearth those is what is considered "Rare" in that shape.

My question is......If there is no staining==Is there a potential 10 in there? I've seen 9's that weren't that clean. "WOW"

Let us know the results from Newport Beach.

Unbelievably, there is no staining. Also, just in case someone thinks so, these are not reprints. These have the waxy surface.

All 16 that I have are clean of staining. There are a couple with centering issues. I promise this is not spamming, but I have the worst 4 of the lot on Ebay right now, expect maybe for the Rosen. The Rosen that I listed is NOT the one pictured above. I listed the Rosen because I have 5 of them and it is the lowest graded example. In other words, 4 are on Ebay and 13 are going to PSA tomorrow. The Lemon and Strickland (pictured above) are going on a 5 day sub. The rest are going on the $6 special.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty excited about it. I got them yesterday. I took a risk because I didn't know much about them, but I knew enough about them that I knew they were desirable in high grade.

No staining is amazing - somebody must have grabbed them before they were ever thrown in to the chips. image

Outstanding indeed. I agree doubtful they ever were in a potato chip bag but as long as they were cut

at the factory IMO that should not matter.

Either that of they used new oil that day!

Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Nope, you're wrong. I just took some lighter fluid and some GOJO and cleaned 'em right up! image

    Just kidding.

These were definitely cut at the factory. They have those "perforations" on the edges which is typical.

If they come back EOT, will you be upset??? Seriously, those look almost too good to be true!
  • The Roberts is the only one that may come back EOT, the other three you can see the "nips" where the were perforated.

If ANY of these cards come back EOT, I will be very upset and would feel I deserve an explanation. Every one of these cards measure perfectly, even the Roberts.

What you guys' thoughts on the centering of the Strickland? I just looked at the corners under a loupe. I think it has an excellent shot at a (gulp) PSA 9.

I know. You're right. I just thought I would see if I could pull the wool over everybody's eyes. I guess it didn't work.

Would someone mind giving me a little VCP help on some of these?

1954 Dan Dee Bob Lemon PSA 7, PSA 8, PSA 9

1954 Dan Dee George Strickland PSA 7, PSA 8, PSA 9

1954 Dan Dee Al Rosen PSA 7, PSA 8

1954 Dan Dee Curtis Roberts PSA 7, PSA 8

1954 Dan Dee Dale Mitchell PSA 7

I have 5 Rosens and 4 Lemons and a couple of Stricklands, and all of them probably fall into those categories (just hoping on the PSA 9's)

Thanks guys. You all have been most helpful.

About a year ago I sold a PSA 7 of each Lemon and Strickland. Got $200 for the Lemon, and $140 for the Strickland.

Yowsers! I just saw on the SMR online where a Curtis Roberts PSA 8 sold for $920 last year. Any chance mine gets an 8?
