A different type of gold

Hey everybody,

I picked up this coin on eBay for $250 with free shipping. I thought I couldn't go wrong at $15 over melt.

All I can think about when I hold it is that if it were American, it would cost me 5K.

    Are you sure it's genuine?

It weighed the correct amount. Do you have more information about this than I do?

Just that many gold coins are counterfeit. Many of which weigh correctly.

I like it. Who doesn't like old gold?
Me, I can't bring myself to buy old gold on ebay.

I picked this up at $15 over spot several years ago from a local shop owner.

Looks real to me. Most fake gold coins are not heavily circulated like this coin.

Nice coin, world gold can be a very economical way of holding bullion.

I like it. I think it's real. There are tremendous bargains in world gold compared to similar US pieces.

That said, it's not as easy to liquidate as some other forms of gold. And if you have concerns about a SHTF scenario, it's not the best choice.

Absolutely. Ease of resale should always be a consideration when selecting specific bullion. that said, I LIKE IT.

  • Congrats. And on Bastille Day to boot! Ol' Nappy didn't last long after this beauty was made. Lot of history wrapped up in this kind of stuff. $15 over melt? C'est un bon marche, a mon avis.
