What happened to Joba the Hut?

ConnecticoinConnecticoin Posts: 12,868 ✭✭✭✭✭
He is just horrible this year!! He has cost them probably 4 or 5 games -- Yanks would be running away with the division with a decent set-up guy (like 2009 Phil Hughes).

How much longer are the NYY going to use him in 8th inning? Got to be time to cut bait soon without a miraculous turn-around.

"I don't understand what is happening this year," said Joba Chamberlain in a recent interview. "I spent all off-season studying tapes of and emulating the delivery of the self-acclaimed greatest closer in the game, Jonathan Papelbon, and now I suck."

I think they should announce how many pitches he will only throw each game, that might help.

I think they are using him wrong. He was a reliever a couple of years ago then a starter and now a reliever again. I think those bugs in Cleveland messed him up.

So the best record in the game gets twisted with this stupid thread? Uhhhhh, yeahhh, he sucks, thanks for the obvious image
But you think that Joba is the one and only reason the Yanks are unlucky enough to own the best record in MLB at the break?

No, this thread is about Joba the Hut. The fact that the NYY are solidly in first place despite Joba's suckiness and the slow starts of A-Rod/Tex is testement to how well the Yankees are playing.

I agree with you. Not only does it look funny but I've often wondered if it effects his peripheral vision to some extent, which logically it must if only even slightly. >>

He's from the 'hood in Lincoln, Nebraska and proud of it. The Lincoln 'hood covers a whopping 4 blocks, and half of the residents are college students.
