Anyone know why this is going for so much money?

Highest silver kilo coin I've seen is the 98 panda in an NGC PF69 holder and that went for around $2,300. I've never seen this piece before but is it really worth 10x the silver spot value?

With a mintage of 1000 and a Chinese population well over 1 billion, not to mention all the other silver collectors in the world, I'm not surprised at all.

I always thought that this phrase was the worst sales pitch ever to sell a Chinese coin, but apparently it works!! LOL

  • No need for a sales pitch with low mintage Chinese material these days. Melt on this matters much like melt on a 1795 USA $10 gold. Same with some of the China gold 12's, 20's, and kilos. Over $6k did seem a bit high to me, but only a bit.
