1962 Topps Willie Mays....opinions

Recent pickup and wanted opinions. I have seen numerous 62's with a white line at top or bottom....this Mays has a black line. Anyone seen this? I looked closely with a loupe and it does not look like it was drawn on.

Thanks-
Claude

That happens with some 62's. I've seen cards graded with the line where they didn't deduct for that, and others where they did. Depends on the grader.

Given the fact that line is pretty bold, and it's a star card, expect a 1 grade deduction for it.

Thanks for the quick reply Ron. Just wasn't sure about the black versus white line...that being said, is it worth sending in? Opinion on grade??

I say PSA 4 maybe a 5. You might get a PD but I don't have much experience with a print line like this.

i'm not sure at all, but the black line may have indicated the outside border of the printing sheet, and perhaps the white line was the inside border of some sort on some print runs?

Card to me looks like around a 5.

Unless that's damage or a crease at the midpoint on the right edge, the card looks like a PSA 6.

Personally, I'd grade it no higher than a 5, due to the black line, corners and OC.
