Which one of these '63 Gibsons is graded correctly?

I'm not sure either of them are.

That 8 is a gift. The 7 looks pretty good as far as being graded correctly. I would prefer the 7 over the 8 all day long.

There is tons of white on the corners of both of those cards.

  • The 7 looks like a 7.5 to me, and the 8 looks like a 7.

    Hi Ron

It looks like the flips were 'flip-flopped'

Actually - I think the 7 is about right but the 8 is over-graded IMO.

I like that PSA 7, I think the PSA 8 is overgraded.

Are the borders really that much whiter on the 7?
  • That's what you call your "higher end" 7 and "lower end " 8 right there. I think PSA hands out half grades only every other day. JMO image

Top one looks ok to me, the bottom one is sitting in the slab in a messed up way

and thus makes the card appear more poorly than it may be.

The top one has the 2 bottom corners missing some ink from light wear.

    Good for you.

With the cards in front of me, the biggest issue with the 8 is the upper right corner. Bottom corner wear on both cards is nearly identical.

There would be no need to buy PSA 8's if every 7 looked like that, I like them both as 7.5, with the card currently in the 7 holder being just a tad better than the card in the 8 holder.

Like the others I think the 7 is the better looking card. I think it could be worthy of a 7.5. The 8 looks like it should be a 7.

  • Unless it is the scan, the 8 looks "brighter" then the 7.. While I don't think the 8 is an 8 too much chipping

I think the 7 is an 8 and the 8 a 7.5. They grade those bad boys (1963s) tough. Like 55 Bowmans.

    Nice Gibby's Ron.

best looking 7 you will ever find, should be an 8; worse looking 8 you will find, should be a 7 . . . pretty much the consensus it seems.

after further review, the top right corner on the 8 should put it in a 6.5 holder
