Yes, lovely island and have not been there since the late '60s when mother and father had Fullbright grants to teach in the local schools, and I went to the British Nicosia Middle School not far from the palace of Archbishop Makarios (bombed by the Turks I understand). Absolutely lovely memories of exploring little - at the time - known sites: Roman, castles, etc. And beaches secluded loveliness!!!

Indeed Cyprus is a lovely island. I grew up in Kyrenia (Girne) until I was 12 years old. My grandmother was Greek and grandfather Turkish Cypriot so I remain neutral but I'm very glad that most of the people on both sides are getting along and that the crossing on the UN border has been opened up.
