Your thoughts on this raw and beautifully toned 58' Canadian Half

I picked this up yesterday for next to nothing at a local antique mall. It looks to be at minimum MS64/65 and is beautifully toned. What are your opinions...worth a submission? Sorry for the soso pics.

watch for small hit marks in the field that sometimes the toning hides.
if the fields are next to flawless, then ms65 is a real possibility.

You're likely to get a better grade from ICCS than PCGS however.
ICCS doesn't knock points off for the milky transparent toning since it's endemic to coins that were
housed in sets with cellophane wrappers. PCGS does.
Hard to tell from the image but are you sure it's a mint state coin and not proof like?

It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

I'd disagree with you here.
ICCS is still much stricter for QEII coinage.
There's plenty of PCGS ms65 QEII dollars at coin shows selling quite a lot less than ICCS ms65 QEII dollars (yes, I know the OP's coin is a 50c)
Prices at coin shows.......
ICCS ms64 1957 to 1964 CDN$......$80.00
ICCS ms65 1957 to 1964 CDN$......$1000.00
PCGS ms65 1957 to 1964 CDN$1.....$200 to $500 (they sell at quite a huge discount to the ICCS ms65's, because if the PCGS ms65's don't cross at ICCS, you take a bath when they only grade at ms64).

Not to argue the point Double Eagle, that simply hasn't been my experience with about 30 ICCS coins sent to PCGS
to cross. Less than 50% crossed and I've only had one upgrade. I quit sending for cross a long time ago, submit
them raw now with only marginally better results.
In any case, please let me know about those PCGS MS 65 dollars in the $200 to $500 range. For some dates I'd
not only be a buyer but would be willing to pay a 20% spiff as a finder's fee.
Best regards.....

<< <i>I don't believe the coin to be PL. And I have never heard of ICCS. Do they focus on foreign or international coins? >>
ICCS is Canada's number 1 grading company.
They also grade US and foreign countries but I would recommend only Canadian for ICCS grading.

I know PCGS has tightened.
But I was referring mainly to QEII coinage and specifically ms65.
I would wager that in all your ICCS coins that did not cross at PCGS, there was not one ICCS QEII ms65 dollar.
August 8th there's a coin show here in Ontario. I'll be on the lookout for PCGS ms65 dollars. Hopefully, I'll have some for you.

<< <i>Thanks for the information guys. So if I am reading into it correctly, I should send to ICCS and not PCGS? >>
I would still send your coin to PCGS.
You're in the US, I'm in Canada.
That's another big reason why you should send to PCGS and I should send to ICCS (for Canadian coins).
Sending coins across borders can get risky, costly and worrisome.
