I love collecting gold bullion, but I love Saints for a numismatic interest

would buying certified Saints sort of be the best of both worlds? Feed both wants? I guess I'm talking about only owning 3-4 examples and then going back to my buying 1/4 oz a month.

If you catch em when the premiums are low it's a fine way to double dip IMHO. MJ

I think it's a great idea if you can get them cheap. I go back and forth between pre-1933 gold and modern bullion as I stack.

Aside from my UHR, I'd never owned a saint before this year--and I've been a coin collector for 35 years. Now I've got a couple and got *this* close to pulling the trigger on another yesterday. Here's the one I got earlier this month:

  • I guess if you are buying not that much over bullion prices. MS-63+ would probably no longer be considered bullion.

Yes unless you are talking high grades where there is a significant premium over bullion value.

Thanks for the responses folks. I was thinking around MS62. Nice coin that can still be had for not too much of a premium. I would even possibly go AU58 if it looks good.

Sounds good to me. I bought this one raw a couple years ago for $850 and was happy with the result.
