I'm starting to get into coin collecting and found this forum a few weeks ago. I'm just testing out my Canon MX860 to see how well it scans some coins of mine. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Pics are about 1.3MB each.

I did not delve any deeper. Just 2 threats which turns me away.

It could very well be that some option has been enabled in your home system which "appears" to be a threat.
Run your virus scanning software for your own peace of mind. (and ours)
Also, if you host photo's from your home PC, they'll be "red X's" when you shut it down for the night.
And Welcome!

I knew it would happen.
most do not use scans as photos are so superior
Excellent detail in those photos. Great job. Most people have a much harder time getting started with coin photography. My only suggestion would be to experiment with using a bit less light, the photos seem slightly washed out. Just a minor nit-pick.

Any suggestions on equipment for taking photos? I'm assuming a good DSLR and a macro lens would be good?

I think the coin pic of the circulated morgan is very good! The others seem to show too bright of surface color. I'm no photography expert, but here's a great site to get some tips. Link
