3 interesting quarters from my bank today

seateddimeseateddime Posts: 6,169 ✭✭✭
2 of the coins have silver rims, both 1999's and a Indy that is an obvious lead, underweight fake being passed as real.

Interesting,,,,

Seems like this is the 3rd or 4th thread with "silver" edge state quarters in the recent days. I'm guessing people are finally coming to the realization that the trash they bought from the shop at home thieves are worth nothing but face value, or the people that bought the junk from the original purchaser are putting them into circ because they are worth nothing but face!

I want to see some photos of the fake!

The silver edged ones are just the plated crap from HSN.

I will shot some pictures tonight, the fake looks decent. I will have it with me at the FUN show if anyone wants to see it.

You do business with a bank that let a forgery pass back in to circulation? WOW! Please tell us the name of your bank so we can avoid them.

imageUmmm its a quarter, if your bank looks at every quarter that passes thru the lines must be out the door and down the blockimage.

Lead would be overweight. So I take it that you have a soft metal underweight fake. Many alloys to choose from. --Jerry
