Wrong Metal $1 President and Lincoln Cent?

Hi. I have some photos. The dollar is not dirty in case you are wondering. I can't imagine it tarnished either. It looks fake to me because of the color. I thought these things were supposed to be golden.

The cent is strange because it does not have the same color as a normal cent. It looks almost dulled.

Please let me know why they look like this. Thanks!!

The dollar looks to have environmental damage to me- it was stored somewhere where an adverse chemical reaction occurred that damaged and dulled its surfaces.

The 1976 cent has been cleaned in a very harsh acidic solution- I used to clean cents in vinegar mixed with salt when I was a kid, and they looked just like that...
