Scan would be helpful. They are probably worth something -- but not too much. Might sell best in a lot at an auction house like H&S or something similar.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Similar ones in minty condition were recently featured on a pawn stars show and the girl was offered 40.00 each.

IMO if a dealer was offering 40.00 they were probably worth 100.00

She had 25 of them and wanted 2k

    Hope that helps.

    Good for you.
  • I figured these would be worth more since they were New York Yankees passes from the 1920's?

Condition is everything and she had NY ones too.

Item like that you need a specific collector.

Put them on the B/S/T board with a make offer message and see what happens.

Or put them up on ebay and use the BIN feature, price them for what you want for them

and also use the best offer. If you have anything really rare there someone will contact you.

One other point, I see some writing on them. Who were they made out for?

Like currency that has a bearing on value too.

Scans are small so it is hard to really gauge condition etc.

    Good luck.

    Good for you.
  • They are made out to George Briggs. The other name that I can read is Fredrick Lieb.

I saw that show also and it appeared the cards were in better condition than the scans....nice item from her families past.

Fred Lieb was a famous sportswriter in the 1920s, tied to the powerhouse Yankees teams. That should add some value to those passes.

Not sure about George Briggs, although Tiger Stadium used to be Briggs Stadium. Not sure if there is a connection there.
  • Does anyone know of any auction records of a similar item?

  • They are on the BST if someone wants to make an offer.

    Thanks

In my opinion if you can get 200.00 for the lot you probably did good.

    Just guessing though.

  • Wow only $200? I would have guessed more but I do not know.
