SMR price guide half point grade

Has anyone noticed that SMR price guide has added half point graded prices to their 1962,63 Topps cards in their last issue. They skipped years 1960,1961. I also noticed almost all cards in their guide going up are the half point graded cards 7.5, 8.5 from 1957-1962. I was wondering what standard they use to add half point grade prices to their guide, year, estimated number of cards made, grading difficulty and what formula do they use to arrive at a price for these cards?
