question for modern collectors - subbing uncirculated cards good or bad?

So I just won a 2002 Bowman's Best Joe Mauer auto that is uncirculated. If it's in good shape, is it best to get it graded or to leave in the uncirculated case or to sub? Not sure which is best for its value - input appreciated. Thanks!

I thought I was in the coin forum. For a second there.

Ahhh sorry I misunderstood. It comes in a case from Bowman?

    IMO I'd keep it uncirculated.

I had several uncirculated Griffey refractors and xfractors. Cracked them all and subbed them. I easily made 4x profit from each.
  • Mauer I would not sub to PSA.

Your big hits with PSA modern grading are tied to registry battles. The Mauer player registry is not exactly a hot commodity right now. If you insist on subbing it, BGS would be your best option. Most high grade modern rookies with no PSA registry interest sell for the most if they are in BGS slabs.
  • As a buyer, if it was a player I wanted I would pay more if it was already graded to save the hassle of subbing myself.
