Not at all...they make a really cool sound if you put them in the spokes of your bike.

In five years, will the name "Dontrelle Willis" be replaced with "Stephen Strasburg"? image

Are they worth anything to you? That's what is most important if you are into the hobby! image

PSA 10 rc's have trouble selling at $0.99 open bids. (seriously)
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

+1 You hit the nail on the head. If you buy all your cards as an investment, you will likely be disappointed over the long haul. But if you're passionate about a set or player and work on collecting those cards, then the "value" will hold up nicely. The most "valuable" card in my collection is a 1984 donruss daryll strawberry rc with a nice crease across the center and 4 rounded corners from when i used to play with it on the floor with my family as a kid. Next to that is about $5.0k that I've sunk into high grade Dale Murphy cards that would probably fetch $0.05k on Ebay, but that I would never sell because he was my childhood hero. I'm glad Dontrelle wasn't my childhood hero :>
