I would love to turn a $5000+ profit in a week on a card. This guy will probably make $15000-20000 on this card without doing anything, and with a live audience to boot!
This is great for the hobby, thousands of new collectors are picking up Strasburg cards and boxes of whatever they can get there hands on. This will be a great year for sports card collecting!!!!
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
wow, a 7 min video explaining the grade of a single card. Are they going to do that for all the cards they grade or just the ones they agree to give a 9.5...
Beckett just lost a lot of integrity... That is very unfortunate for the hobby.

Beckett's just taking advantage of the publicity.
I wouldn't be surprised if Beckett PAID the owner of the Strasburg for the privilege of grading the card.
Wondering if this is really legit? The buyer pays $16,000+ for the card, and is willing to send it to BGS for grading. That seems pretty risky, it's a 1/1 card, why would you risk grading it? If its legit, he's making a nice profit, but it makes you wonder.
I Should have checked his feedback first! It's legit, but still seems like a big risk to get it graded. As far as the centering, it's not bad, not perfect, but not as bad as many seem to think.
<< <i>Beckett Feces throwing monkies explaining the 9.5 grade
Wow. Just Wow >>
Sounds plausible to me. I figured it would get a 9 on centering and a 9.5 or higher on everything else.
The centering is NOT worse than 60/40, btw. >>
I have to agree.
Super Bowl XXVIII: Buffalo Bills vs Dallas Cowboys - Running back Emmitt Smith rushed for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns earning Super Bowl MVP honors as the Cowboys defeated the Bills 30-13 to win their second consecutive NFL title.
<< <i>Do any of the PSA graders have soul patches? >>
No kidding man. Nothing says PROFESSIONAL like a soulpatch on the SR. grader. Those guys in the video look like a cross between the 3 Stooges and the Lambdas from Revenge of the Nerds. If Beckett wants some publicity from the Strasburg card, then good idea. But why publish this stupid bushleague video? Is it too much to ask these clowns to put on a coat and tie and maybe shave for the video? My favorite part was when grader on left tells the story about how a collector purchased a BGS 10 graded Jordan RC for $200k and the host chimes in with a quick "THAT WAS CRAZY!!"
I was thinking the same thing. edges receive a 9.5 but its rough, the back alone should be an 8.5. There is no card out ther that would have all the flaws they talk about and receive 9.5 subs. They should all be 8.5 subs, what a crock of monkey Dung, and to go a make a video a verbally state the problems, jeez. Grader needs a new day job.
<< <i>Well except for the centering, edges and one ding its perfect!!!!!!!!! >>

Look's like a "creative" use of Photoshop to me.

<< <i>Wow.....5-10k in one week. Good for him. That's awesome ! >>
Seems like it would have been more profitable and less of a hassle to just take a three team parlay on Strasburg's first three starts.

Personally, I think that would raise the douche factor a little too high.

where is DIZZLE to defend his beloved Beckett is time?
its not like Strassburg can win the TRIPLE CROWN

That is for sure.
I would bet it's not even a card collector running it up. Some guy with more money then he could ever spend thinking he's got the next crown jewel
