Reggie Bush...to lose Heisman?

What is everyone's take on the Reggie Bush investigation-findings?

Basically, it has now been proven that Bush took funds that were against NCAA rules during his time in college. The NCAA is going to do something against the school and the Heisman Board of Trustees is going to meet to discuss it. Basically, the Trojans will lose their National Championships and have a bunch of other things happen. This is fairly big in that I think it might not let them attend Bowl games the next few years or something like that also. (Haven't really followed the school side...more interested in Bush).

I am a fan of Bush and Heisman collector (ticket stubs, autos, rc's) so I guess I would like him to keep it, personally.

What I don't understand is, the fact that Bush and his family and his friends, took money....was 100% obvious with stories in all the major medias about it. I cant remember all the stuff now, but Bush had a car, like a $500 jacket, his parents rented a house rent free.....there were a bunch of newslines about all of it. I guess it has been discovered over $100,000 taken by Bush and company....and from what I see, the list does not contain things like the house. (Wasn't that on ESPN?)

I guess I just don't understand how it could take years to say......declare a red ball is red.

    Aren't we all?

Anyways, it would only compound this travesty by stripping him of the trophy. The money didn't change his accomplishments on the field. Hopefully, his stats will carry the weight of the day.

No, it didn't. However, it did change his amature status, which is the #1 criteria for being eligible for a Heisman trophy.

I know Vince Young said he wouldn't accept it. I hope every other top candidate says the same. Only a chump would accept that award, years later, knowing you did NOT really win it. You would never be fully accepted as a real Heisman winner in my opinion. Don't forget I wouldn't be surprised if a HUGE percentage of Heisman winners (especially from the 50's-80's) cheated in some ways (money, peds, etc...).

According to Pete Carroll they didn't cheat at all, he didn't leave due to the controversy and imminent punishment and that dinosaurs and people did actually exist at the same time.

Pete Carroll better win games in Seattle or I will personally run him out of town. The jury is going to be out on him. I'm not sure he turns the Hawks around. Alot of hype; but it's put up or shut up in a terrible division. Is it the worst division ever?

I think it is a shut door. Kinda like Jose Canseco still holding his MVP Award. As far as I am aware, the Downtown Athletic Club is independent and not subject to NCAA findings.

Who cares about Reggie Bush. They guy is not even a starter in the league. Probably one of the most overrrated players in the league.

That was against the rules, too.

    Just sayin...

He actually is technically a starter but not overrated. To be overrated, there would have to actually be someone that thinks he's good. Everyone but KimK knows he is worthless.

Good point. Guess Notre Dame fans can no longer complain about that game. Reggie Bush was never really there.

LOL, I heard about that. He may get a lot of chicks but he's way out of his league on that one.

Not sure what is worse...that his girlfriend is with a different guy every week in the news, or that USC did return, or is packaging it right right, his Heisman.

The story is missing from the heisman.com newlines.

Does anyone know if this makes Vince Young an official Heisman now? I see on their website they still have Reggie Bush (and O.J. Simpson), but the catagory is "Heisman winners", which they were.

Still need a Chrome PSA 10 Bush RC.

Think USC will use registered mail or just DC?
