how to remove cards glued to an album
Does anyone know the best way to remove cards that have been glued to an album.. or remove glue and paper that is still stuck to the back of the card. I'm certainly not looking to do this and then resell them to rip anyone off.. i just bought a few cards that were once glued in album. I've been looking for them for a long time and never see them on ebay and they were cheap enough.. so i bought them. The front looks fine but there are spots on the back with excess glue and paper from the album. Also, how would psa grade them with glue or excess paper on the back? will they just get a ST qualifier.. or am i looking at a psa 1 at best. Finally, if i try to remove the glue/paper will psa still grade the card? the cards are 1970 panini arthur ashe and 1974 panini george forman. The forman has actually been cut out of the album so the entire back is has the page of the album stuck to it. The ashe just has some paper. I don't really care about the grade. i just want them slabbed.

PSA 1
Cards glued into albums are very common with PreWar cards as thats how a good % were saved back then before plastic pages etc.
I cant help with the glue question unless you can figure out what type of glue it is, usually the older the glue the easier it will come off. I have removed hundreds of cards from albums and many have no sign afterwords. Soaking in water is the main way its done, and thjis can be done with most but not all PreWar cards (real photo cards will be ruined).
On the PSA grading glued cards............ at least 90% off all Sanella cards were formally glued into an album, and PSA has graded hundreds, (maybe thousand +?) of them, so they do grade cards with glue removed from back.
Sanella's are very easy to remove and also the glue is easy to remove from back.
The easiest is 19th Century cards glued into Victorian Tradecard Albums, because the kids usually used a paste made of flour and water.

And the paste makes a great biscuit, too!!!
as others have stated psa will grade cards that have had glue removed or even tape removed.
good luck on your quest to get them graded and slabbed.
