Wanted: Doily outer shell

I just got me a doily missing its outer shell, and wanted to try and replace it. Anyone out there got an extra one? PM me if you got one. Thanks!! Will buy or send you a mystery coin for trade (offers should be jumping thru the screen, now!).

Slipgate: I am referring to the outer shell of the slab itself. When removed, it makes the doily holder appear to be a rattler style holder. The shell forms the rim all the way around the slab and allows them to be stacked. Thanks.

agentjim007 and blu62vette: I think I have seen cracked slabs before with the outer rim still intact. Even if not intact, I could easily refit one back on if the rim only had 1 clean break on it. Thanks.

"outer shell" - Are you referring to the PCGS encapsulation? You have just the paper and need the plastic??

There are lots of those style holders available in the 2.5 or 3.5 [I think] versions at no premium. If you can find a way to remove the outer ring without damaging it, getting a replacement should be no problem.

These outer shells are also obsolete. Since their not made anymore.

I've seen a few, but they're only on nice coins. Just picked one up last LB expo with a nicely toned PR 64RD 1940 cent in it. I'll let you know if I decide to send it in for a true-view, and I'll just keep the outer ring part for you.

It doesn't have to come from a doily holder. Any of the earliest versions of the "slab within a slab" PCGS holder will fit a doily, but the outer layer would have to be removed from the other slab and somehow fitted onto the doily without deforming it too much or breaking it.
