Can't believe I just did this - damaged some sold cards

Sold 2 Strasburg cards yesterday and was just now getting ready to package them to mail tomorrow and I dropped the both of them damaging the top right corner of each of them. I just let the buyer know. Hope he believes me. Also offered to just give him the cards for free so he doesn't think it was sellers remorse or anything.

50 bucks right down the drain - that sucks

    Well, the sucks...I see no reason why the auction winner would not believe you especially since you are offering to give him the cards.

    I've done it twice. It sucks, but the best solution is to just send them to the buyer for free. I did that both times (w/o asking if they wanted them), and in one case I got a repeat buyer out of the deal.

    Ugh, that's a freaking shame. I hope the buyer dosen't get jerky, you sure as hell don't need another kick in the rear.

    Gravity is a terrrible thing sometimes. I have the fear of the drops everytime when handling my cards. Sorry about that.

    been there, done that....hopefully the buyer is understanding.....I've also had items I've bought end up in similar fashion. sometimes slippery fingers are the worst....too much beer suds!!

    Wait a couple of years and when the cards are valued at half what theyre going for now, it wont feel as bad.

    Added for clarity: I am not saying that Stras wont be great, just that its hard to believe that his cards will be anymore hyped than they are now. All overhyped stars go down in the long run. Lebron, V. Carter, Lincecum, Ryan Howard, Adrian Peterson. etc.

    If it makes you feel any better, when I was a kid, I used to put 86 fleer basketball cards in my tire spokes so it could make that cool sound whenever I rode my bike.
