SGC 84=to what PSA grade?

I am think about purchasing a card that is graded 84 SGC. What is the equivelent in PSA or BGS. The guy does not have pic of the card, but would need a lot of info about SGC. The more i get the better. it is a high end purchase and I don't want to make a mistake. do they label OC or PD, are they pretty strick with center or no??? Any help would be appricated.

I think it is like a PSA 7 or something... maybe less.

mike, my general rule of thumb is not to buy without seeing the card first. it could be a psa 10 and still be off center. if the card is really a high end, they guy can go to kinkos and scan it for you. i am not too familiar with sgc, nor with their grading scale. i know that a sgc 90 is lower than a psa 9. they dont do an equivalent scale. hopefully that helps some

check in the beckett... it shows the comparison between SGC, BGS and PSA for the grades. SGC is like 95% of the bv, PSA is 100% of bv and BGS is like 120% or something like that.

thanks for the help. I am really not able to get a scan, otherwise i would. i probably will just skip it. for the kobe auto's i will need other high end auto's/vintage/high end rc's of equal value/greater value in return. The kobes sell regularly around 100 on ebay, so i am not able to trade at book, i value them at 200 bv.

200 seems a bit high for a regular auto. what about that garnett ultimate auto?

200 is high for a 'common' kobe autograph? look at the odds of getting one.. I mean come on..

erm.. we're talkin' about TRADING value here.. he told you the graphs are SELLING for about $100 each (which is true, some even more)

BV of $200! I'm not asking that. I doubt you will find a kobe auto on ebay for under $100. Beckett values are usually 2x ebay prices. I will probably hang on to the Kobe auto's.
