  • Are you done collecting and going to pack it in if your "Visions Of Johanna" set sells or
are you going to start up another PSA registry set?

I have a pretty good chunk of cards to submit eventually that would be the nice start of a new set.
But I am looking to sell the set complete if I can find a buyer at top dollar. I would feel funny about breaking it up and don't have the time to piece it out, either.

Good luck with the set Greg. Would you be able to tell us what you might accept for the set?
    Thanks

"Top dollar" is one of those phrases that has no point of reference to give it any useful meaning.
    When in doubt, don't.

What grade are all the cards in, do they include the stickers (many consider the set complete even without the stickers) and what is a balpark number you are looking for soi don't overpay or lowball with an insulting number.

I would estimate the SMR value at $11,000.

    The set contains approximately 120 PSA 10's , 205 PSA 9's and 5 PSA 8's.

It is the product of multiple years of unopened wax box opening, magnifying glass using, meticulous collecting.

I do also have a sticker set that would not be included, but would likely be available in addition. It is also the third rated set in the world.

Hope this helps some for frame of reference. But as I stated initially, I am looking for someone who wants to get in to this set for the long haul, and understands the cost of building it over years and years.

    Howdy GregMo,
I know you don't want to piece it out, but there are about 6 or 7 PSA 10s that you have that I need the last time I could see the contents of your set. You know I'm in it for the long haul and pretty much just concentrate on the Topps sets from the original trilogy. I'd love the chance to talk about buying those cards (and any others you may have gotten that would help my set). I would also include my PSA 9s in the sale so you can keep a complete set and still have the #3 set in the world. I can get you some quick cash and not really change the overall quality of the set. Thanks for your time and hope to talk to you soon.

    Captfisch,

Shoot me an email at gregmo32@aol.com . I am planning on going to the National in Baltimore next weekend, and depending on how things go there, I may be willing to consider your offer.

In the meantime I will let you look at the details of my set and see which ones you are interested in...

    Best regards,
    Greg

I've bought a few raw complete sets from Greg & it went perfectly. In fact, I think I still need that last series. How much is that again? Anyway, I went to the National with my son & he picked up 4 PSA 8 Star Wars cards that he loved & I was glad to get them for him. I'd consider getting more...

Question: How much product did you have to break to get that set where it is today & when did you start the quest?

I still have my cards I opened when I was 7 & I truly appreciate the effort/time you put into the set.
    Enjoy your collection!

In addtion to all the ones I opened as a kid, I have probably opened about 12-15 wax boxes over the past few years, in addition to countless purchases of mint lots and complete sets through the years. I have probably personally built 200 complete sets in all conditions and kept only the best. Once, I had the majority of the PSA set built, I started to buy the cards available in PSA holders to fill out and upgrade.

Even though I am a huge sports fan, this project has been the most fun and satisfying of my collecting career.
