I am done with any grading service

I don't care if PSA BGS BCCG GAI. I sold too many PSA 9's on eBay for like 0.99 or sometimes buck or 2. I have seen PSA 10 sold for 0.99.
It just wasting money. Sometimes making some. PSA charging too much plus high $$$ shipping cost.

for your average collector and nothing more. I would disagree about PSA charging too much, at least for
modern specials at 5-6 a pop.
I collect because I enjoy collecting sportscards and If I happen to make a little money, it is gravy !
Wish you the best.
I'd rather take my chances and start them at a level where I at the least broke even.
If they don't sell I still have them.
Or you could always start them at .99 and charge 6.00 shipping but you would then be
the subject of a thread here.

IMO your best bet is to sign up for vcp, and check to see if anything you wish to grade has sold in excess of the value of the raw card plus grading fees.

Sure it is, if ya don't know the market value of the various cards you got graded and sold. One thing about ebay, not in every case, but for the most part it is a brutally honest assessment of what the value is on collectibles. When ya know the marketplace, there is no doubt, not even debatable that PSA can and does add value, and sometimes much more value to a card.
So rather than be "done with any grading service" my advice would be to educate yourself more about card values before "wasting money".

well thanks for your random thoughts
<< <i>It was a near perfect set of 1982 Kmart anniversary cards from a factory fresh case. Found a great deal at a show for only 25 cents a set. With only a $300 investment in grading per set and pulling $75-$100 out of tens that would make $3000-$4000 profit per set. After just 2 cases the quest for T206 Wagner would be complete. >>
$75-100 per? lol good luck
IMHO
If a card isn't worth the grading fees, then don't get it graded!

Exactly. If you are grading cards to make money then you better know what the market is for the cards you are grading!
I have had a ton of cards graded that aren't worth the grading fee but I enjoy having my cards in PSA cases. A waste of money or adding to my collection depending on how one looks at it. If I ever sell my collection then I guess it was a waste.
Auction's about to end
I pass my time on message boards
The cardboard's my only friend
Remember when my 10's would sell
For a Ben or even more
Remember when I got a grand
I got more than that for my low pop friends
Remember when we used to talk about how the market was so hot
We'd make a million or even more, TOGETHER, FOREVER...........
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends, hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin' on, we got to try, holdin' on to never say goodbye
Now my 10's they go for dimes
A sad reflection of these times
Pennies now will buy my nines
Might drown my sorrow with some wine
Remember at the show that night
I found a card that was so right
So sharp, so clear, so sweet, so clean
But PSA said EOT
I threw my sub straight in the trash
Swore I'd never spend more cash, TO GRADE CARDS, EVER, AGAIN......
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends, hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin' on, we got to try, holdin' on to never say goodbye
I guess you'd say we used to talk about bustin' wax,
But Gary broke our hearts, TOGETHER, FOREVER.........
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends, hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin' on, we got to try, holdin' on to never say good

Why does anyone slab low value commons?
Because of the registry, and when it goes its path (demand fades), all those commons will be worth a fraction of what it costs to slab them.
Since day 1, Ive always wondered why someone would pay more than a cards worth to have it slabbed.
Original reason for a slab..... to protect the more valuable card, and to protect someone from overpaying on a tampered with card or fake.
....... Not to protect a low value Biff Pocoroba, Mark Lemongello, or Don Mossi.
I believe the answer is OCD.
When does the album drop?

You have insulted Biff for the last time! Pistols at dawn.
That is one reason why people grade .99 cards.
And if you are going to be a person that grades such cards for resale make sure you price them at level where
you make at least .99 profit.

Burgundy walks in with his tools,
With his expectations mighty high
Ain't no sound but the cash register,
Cha cha chinging in his ears
Are you ready, Are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Burgundy’s found another 9
That PSA graded 8
Another score for Burgundy
Another score for Burgundy
Should I pop it or review it oh what should I do
Another score for Burgundy
Hey, I think I’ll pop it out
Another score for Burgundy
What will I spend my money on,
When I get the bump.
This will be the easiest money I ever made,
Since settling out of court with my Mom
I won’t be happy, I won’t be satisfied
Until I get the bump
But into the card the screwdriver rips
Oh my god what has Burgundy just done
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Oh my god what did I do
Another one bites the dust
Hey, Ah take it. Hey
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down
But don’t take his 8, don’t take his 8
And turn it into a 3
Onto the boards I will go to tell them what I’ve done
Hey, I think I’ll have a sale
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust yeah
Have I got a deal for you
Another one bites the dust
I'm trying out my hand at a new hobby as well- rehabbing vintage cars. I've been working on a 1986 Ford Taurus the past couple months. I'm about $8500 into it but it's gonna be like brand new when I'm done!!!
As usual excellent post.

LOL, I don't care who ya are, that's funny right there
dont waste your time with .99 cent auctions.
DO put them up with BUY IT NOW with best offer. for say $9
rinse and repeat.
<< <i>dont grade crap, modern, overproduced junk. >>
I've done quite well the last few years grading overproduced modern junk. Just have to know what junk to sub. I swing and miss more than I hit homeruns but the homeruns always more than compensate for the K's.

Actually a smart move...i think there are many out there who are willing to pay big money to relive the experience of when they drove a rental car from Avis.
