Centering Mark?

Is the raised little blob on the neckline below the ear a centering dot?

Thanks, what was the purpose of this again. Obviously to center something. Also, look at the field in front Ms. Liberty; You can see multiple outlines of Ms. Liberty, almost as if the die went skipping across the planchet during striking. What would've cause these multiple outlines?

Those images you see in front of, behind and beneath the bust are clash marks caused by the reverse
die striking the obverse die with no planchet present. It imparts an image in the die that appears on
other coins struck. These are extremely common in bust halfs and especially for the 1814 issue.

I would expect the remanents to be from the reverse die though.
