percentage alone is not a good indicator:

99.1% feedback sound like a decent seller?

glad I checked before bidding on his coins.

The same seller had some valuable, high grade type coins listed on Ebay a while back, supposedly at no reserve. That was despite the fact that the coins had sold for good money in a Heritage sale, not long before appearing on Ebay. Sure enough, they somehow got bid up to very strong levels.image

That's because he was happy with the price he got. His problem seems to be that he's too cheap to start his auctions at his minimum acceptable price. He saves a few $ by starting auctions low but looses on his reputation when he refuses to complete transaction because he didn't get what he wanted. Sellers like this need to be exposed to the buying population.

The recent $100 sales that all got cancelled look like Buy It Nows, not auctions. It looks like he listed a batch of high price items mistakenly at $100 BIN, and a few people jumped.

I don't mean to defend the seller but all the negs from this week were the result of him listing valuable items at ridiculously low BIN prices, obviously in error. If you listed a thousand dollar cfoin with a $100 BIN price and it was bought in seconds before you were able to correct the listing, would you complete the transaction?

Appears to be the case, but five times in two days? Four other cases of not completing the transaction and a bunch of other negs for other things. Not my kind of seller.

If that is what happened he could at least note that in response to the neg that he got.

Agreed. I wouldn't deal with him either...at the very least such oversights indicate a lack of conscientiousness and professionalism..

As long as I get the coin I want for a fair price, I'm okay. You should see the correspondences I have with a seller who refunded my money for five pandas and the reasons for it.

I could not believe a seller could be so rude , obnoxious, paranoid and a business all rolled into one personality.

I am tracking quite a few listings by this seller for high-value Modern Bullion auctions that he listed quite recently. He's got a bunch up for sale.

Sometimes it pays to buy things the old fashion way.
On any given day I can buy buffalos or eagles what ever I want at my local dealer and beat ebay prices 9 out of 10 times.
I tend to ebay for coins I can not easily find.
But before I make any purchase I have got in the habit of checking the feedback page and recently this web site.
I like the way collectors and dealers rat out ebay vendors like this
its a plus to the hobby thanks.

  • 99.9% is my minimum and that's squirelly!.

    I got a fake 1914-D XF++ Lincoln from a seller with 100% and about 750 FBs.
It was included in a complete set which was also amazingly bad. He had them described as
nothing less than VF. That was worse than the '14-D. Some were AG.
I gave him a neg. and he, of course, returned the favor, my first and only neg.
Since I was over 2500 pos., ebay rounded it off to 100% while the seller got down to 99.9%.

BTW, I started a 2 or 3 month long deal with paypal and did get my money back.
