An eBAY seller faces a £50,000 fine after bidding for his own sales on the auction site.

"An eBAY seller faces a £50,000 fine after bidding for his own sales on the auction site.
The prosecution of trader Paul Barrett, 39, is the first of its kind in the UK.

A court heard Barrett opened a second eBay account then bid on cars, mobiles and other items he had put on sale - pushing up their prices.

He then posted gushing reviews on his trading from the other account."

Glad they got him, vcan't believe he said he didn't think he was doing anything wrong because ebay let him open a second account.

Posting false mileage sounds like a serious offense to me, that shouldn't be in the same category with shill bidding.

People think that they can get away with the law by pleading ignorance. In the end, I'm guessing some of the 10 charges will be dropped. Handsome fellow.image
