That '09 S VDB the seller has in the PCI holder is a much better deal for the cash out...if you're asking me, that is. Then again, an '01 S Barber quarter in VG is outta my league, and a couple of bucks ain't gonna get either.

The closeup up of the obverse seems to have PL surfaces. I would guess it's the one sided PL surfaces that gave it the star. This isn't unprecedented for the NGC star. I've seen a few Morgans that have DMPL on one side but not the other and NGC gave them a star.
