1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253, PSA 5, 1958 Topps Jim Brown RC

I will be piecing out my 1951 Bowman set and will start with the big dog of the set.

This example is well centered left to right and has beautiful colors with sharp registration.

The card does exhibit rough cut edges along the top, you know that vintage rough edge look.
The back of the card has no wax in the traditional sense as far as I can tell, there might be a slight hint causing some discolored tones in a spot as you can see in the picture, but I am not sure if that was caused by wax.
Nonetheless this is VERY sharp for a 5.

The white borders do not have any fading (brown cardboard undertones beneath the white) like you would traditionally see in mid grade '51 Bowmans.

I went through every PSA 5 sale recorded on Vintagecardprices and came to the conclusion that it matches those examples that have sold for $4000 and above in PSA 5.

I am going to offer it here first to our board members.

Very tough card to find centered with clean crisp color/registration.

$4000 delivered USPS Registered mail.

Please feel free to PM if you'd like more information and discuss over the phone.
Thanks for looking!

I was about to submit this card but it didn't make the cut as I need my registry items to go first.
I am guessing it'll grade a 5, nice clean card with decent centering.

Outstanding color on that beauty. Good luck with it!
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Gorgeous and stunning card! Wish I had extra funds for it! I will be all over it!!! Good Luck with your sale!!

Additional Photo's added, please excuse the speckles of dust.
I can provide additional photos per request, larger size scans seem to come out blurry or pixelated in my settings.

Feel free to PM and if you're serious about the card I encourage you to give me a call to so we discuss the cards condition in depth.

    Martin.
