If it weren't cleaned would the hits on the cheek and fields keep it out of a problem free holder?

At least get it in a genuine holder perhaps?

<< <i>Shame about the cleaning... that date is so tough to find, I've yet to see more than one at any coin show I've been to...

Probably not worth getting into a Genuine holder. I don't think it is worth the money for that. In VF (uncleaned/unpolished/etc.), it is only a $45 to $55 coin. Of course this is just my opinion. I have spent money to slab $10 coins in the past, so hey, sometimes it means more than the money.
Cleaned and re-toned; VF Details.
just dipped about 50 times.
