Who's Going to FUN - July 8-10, 2010 in Orlando?

FUN - ORLANDO - JULY 8-10, 2010
...and are you looking for anything specific....or just going for the general "Fun of it"?
I don't live too far away from this one so I am thinking about going over there for a day. Would it be useful if I just walked around with a picket sign of what I was looking for so dealers would see my list and call me over?
Have you ever seen anyone do this in a larger show? Would it be allowed? I am half-serious here. Anyone ever thought about doing this? It sure would make a day go by faster and easier.

No, I would not dream of carrying around a picket sign, and don't recommend you do either. If what you are seeking is so rare that you need to advertise for it so that 'the day goes by faster and easier' as you said, rather than appreciate all that a major show like this has to offer, then I would stay home and use the internet. I enjoy the show for what it is - a chance to meet a lot of dealers, look at many coins in person you otherwise could not do, (including many that I don't collect, but are nonetheless interesting), and maybe attend a seminar or auction.

<< <i>this will be the first Summer FUN that I miss. With Boston ANA just a month afterward and within driving distance, I thought it would be a reasonable thing to do to choose just one. >>
Bummer, Rich. I'll give your regards to Ed and Lance Hipps!

I figure Lance will be there for sure. Maybe Ed will go to the ANA? Seems he has been picking fewer shows nowadays.
Maybe a t-shirt would be in better taste. "Looking for - Merc Varieties" on front and back.
This will be my first time at a BIG SHOW....I can't wait.

I'll be there for a couple of days - Friday afternoon and Saturday -
most of which I will be looking at the Dr. Steven Duckor collection of Barber Halves.
This set will be on display at FUN - but - I'm not sure if Heritage will allow an
up close and personal inspection as they do in their auction viewing rooms.
Other than that, I don't have much of an agenda; maybe looking for a few
misc. dates for my V Nickel set in PCGS 58... and a couple of upgrades for
my Barber Dime set in AU 58.
My Thread on the BST is quite old and I need to retire it - as I'm down to
a dozen coins needed in 58 for all three series of Barbers.

<< <i>I will be at the summer fun. Having some photos taken and looking for bust material. I really cant wait for them to change to Tampa next year. I can roll out of bed and be at the show.

That will make it a 25 minute drive instead of an 80 minute drive.

I'm with you, kind a far from the west coast but this would be a great show to attend.
