A die adjustment or trial strike doesn't have fully formed rims.

Nice struck thru error, as Broadstruck said, it is not a Die adjustment strike

No doubt in my mind a struck through.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Look at the lack of rims on this Die Trial Adjustment Strike.

Now look at this Strike Through as they look the same based on the central weakness but this has fully formed rims.

Aren't the rims formed in a separate operation using an upsetting machine before it is struck?

The edges are "upset" before the coin is struck (in the upsetting mill), but it is the striking process that actually causes the rims to be formed.

    It's a filled die error.
