new half cent

This has gorgeous red gold and green hues in it. Was wondering if there are any varieties to this paticular coin...I notice the die crack up the lefthand stars and on the back you can plainly see the bust coming through.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that coin has been harshly cleaned.

If you want an honest opinion on the surfaces and color of the coin I can give you one, but you haven't asked for that.

Looks polished at one point too.

  • This coin has AU-BU details and I agree it was dipped recently and got it undervalued so I'm happy with it. I don't think it was ever polished do to a lack of striations on the surface.

As long as you like it that is all that counts. Cool pick up. image

    Hoard the keys.
  • My biggest wonder was if there were varieties cause coinfacts only has cohen 1 but has a die crack on the back from half to cent and is missing the stars crack from what i see.

I cannot comment on die marriage, but this coin has definitely been polished son.

I don't believe there are any scarce varieties for this date.....the others have already beaten you up sufficiently as to the state of the coin.

  • This content has been removed.
  • I'll keep my opinion to myself as well unless asked, but the indeed has some issues.
  • There is only oe variety (die marriage) of 1833 HC Cohen 1. It's possible that the die state may be more or less advanced due to additional die wear.

Looks like the surfaces crowd showed up and you were looking for the Die Marriage crowd. Not to worry they give out free opinions.......... image
  • I know it has been altered and paid a much lower price for the details I wanted.

This was really the reason I love this coin. You can also see a little more clash at the top of the wreath.
