Paper loss on corners

What is opinions by the board on slight paper loss on otherwise sharp corners? How much, if any of lowering of grade might there be. This would be on vintage card. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it knocks it down to at least a 5 or lower.

    What removed the paper..... tape?

If so it will be closer to a 1.

I'm always leary of otherwise sharp corners showing paper loss on or near the tip of the corner, and wonder how that type of wear (i.e., paper loss) could possibly occur when the corners are otherwise sharp. In other words, I worry that the corners have been sharpened.

It just looks as maybe just a slight top layer might be worn.

Forgot to mention, the slight loss cannot be too bad because the card is an 8 already.

I can't see any paper loss from the scan, must be pretty small.

Jeffcbay, thanks for posting scan. It is very very small and can only be seen with mag. glass. Corners are still sharp, just have a touch of wear on top layer of paper. Debating whether or not to send for review.

It all depends on the border colors.. Ive seen vintage 8.5s with faint paper loss on the corners. White borders only
