Congrats!
STAY HEALTHY!

Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Congrats to Halladay...though if that called "strike" to Coughlan on a 3-2 pitch in the 1st inning were any more outside, it may have been mistaken for a pitchout..image

Don't count on it. Other than Don Larsen's perfecto in the 1956 World Series, no one else has even pitched a no-hitter in any round of postseason.

Watched it locally in s. FL on the Fox Sports Net and they used a pitch tracker to illustrate that in a whole strike-out sequence of 7 pitches that not 1 crossed the plate in the strike zone. Only 1 swing. A horribly called ball/strike game. Reminds me of the junk that Maddox/Glavine/Smoltz got away with for years in Hotlanta.

    How lame is this?

Marlins selling unsold Halladay perfect game tickets

The Florida Marlins will begin selling on Tuesday unused tickets to the game in which the Philadelphia Phillies ace pitched the 20th perfect game in major league history, a 1-0 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

All tickets will be regularly priced at "face value" and on sale both online and through the Marlins' box office.

I don't understand...are they replaying the game because of a protest?

No, they want to milk a few more bucks out of these as "collectibles." So now people can lie about being there if they want to pay for an unusable ticket from the past, and those who actually were there have the collectible value of their souvenir decreased considerably.

Actually, a pretty good idea by their marketing director. They'll certainly sell some, perhaps all of these tickets. I didn't look at ebay, but I wonder how much the tickets from that other perfect game this season are selling for? I would think that might be a good indicator of the profit potential in flipping the item, and if the unused tickets from the team will sell out or not.

Prolly the owner's idea. If you look up skinflint in the dictionary his picture is next to it in the margin. image
