first 1 of 1 cards

Was flair showcase the first set to feature the 1 of 1 cards back in 1997 or 1998 ? Are they worth anything seen that they were the first 1 of 1 cards issuied I remember being at a show and somebody said they had the griffey and wanted 10k for it back then

    I believe the earlier one's should go for more. However, I would not pay more because of the bankruptcy sales of Fleer/Skybox. In fact, due to this they are worth less to me. There are dozens of cards I have seen more then one of. It appears to me, Fleer/Skybox printed 3 copies of it's 1 of 1's. Maybe not all sets. Maybe not all sets had their surplus released via bankruptcy, but to me it is a question that is going to make me pass less for the card.
