FSHO: 1836/1336 Capped Bust Half Dollar O-108 R2 NGC AU58.......................ON HOLD
This is a 1836/1336 CBH Overdate. It is VERY sharply struck with all details being well defined, including the obverse stars, hair, eagle feathers, eagle talons, and arrowheads. It has nice, crusty, original surfaces with minimal marks, excellent luster beneath the toning (not well seen in the pics), and just the slightest of rub on the very highest of points.
My camera is not working well and so all I have are the seller's pics, sorry. The NGC insert says "1836 Lettered 50 C" Cert # 3173331-009. The NGC holder does indicate that this 1836 CBH is the 1836/1336 Overdate, however, check the die characteristics in Overton's book and you will see that this 1836 is in fact the 1836/1336 O-108a variety. Please note, the die crack beneath the date and through the right obverse stars (characteristic of the O-108a) are not seen well in these pics, but are there and can be visualized easily with the coin in hand.
