Which Mint produced the best, true, Doubled Die Obverses?
Don't know if there's been a thread on this before, but could this start up a debate?

For those that don't know, I am starting pharmacy school in the fall.

<< <i>wondering if the OP is looking for the producer of the DD with the most extreme spacing or the most valuable coins? i was assuming the former >>
Another great debate idea
<< <i>The Carson City mint, they made the 1876-cc 10c of course, quite dramatic! >>
Although struck in Carson City, the die itself was produced in Philadelphia.
As for the best, either 1934-D dollar or 1955 cent.

I was under the impression that in order to have a real dd you need to strike the coin twice? >>
No, the doubling happens when the actual die is being made. Therefore every coin struck from that die will have the same characteristics.
Franklin-Lover's Forum
particularly within the 20th Century, came from the
Philadelphia branch of the U.S. Mint.
<< <i>Has to be Philadelphia since they made ALL the dies..... >>
OK, you beat me to that one.

1888-O Hot Lips Morgan $
1876-CC DDR Trade $
Anything dramatic from S, C, or Dahlonega?

You'd never know this based on the silly posts on my thread last week.
