Blackhawks vs. Flyers.....Stanley Cup Finals

Should be a great one. Both sets of fans love their hockey. Both sets of fans are hungry for the Cup.
Probably Blackhawk fans are yearning for it more. Slight edge to Chicago, but the series could go either way.

Blackhawks in seven.

I have to pick my Flyers. It will be an excellent series and like you said, it could go either way.

Chicago will win the Cup this year, but I hope that the Flyers will at least win a couple of games and make it competitive.

Truly a shame the Bruins choked away the Philly series. An Original 6 final would have been way cool.

    Blackhawks-

  • Wow what a great game to start the finals last night. If all the games are like this with the high scoring and fast pace its going to be a great final to watch. Hopefully it will bring back fans and maybe even bring in some new fans to the NHL.

Before the Stanley Cup final, Bettman gave some very positive numbers for the NHL. This is when he announced the
Penguins-Capitals and Calgary-Montreal outdoor games next year. So I think many new fans have come aboard.

Everyone is saying game 2 will be lower scoring, but I think it will be another barnburner. I'll guess 4-3 Chicago.
    Flyers ain't going away easy.

  • Blackhawks fans are pretty happy being up 2-0 with Toews, Kane, and the big guy doing nothing.

Philadelphia can't afford a split at home.

Have to tell you, though...as a Blackhawks fan, that Flyers onslaught during the third period of Monday's game scared me. Yes, our Hawks won, but I think the Flyers just ran out of time. Let's see if we can put it away...and soon.

i can understand that a bit but look at it this way. the flyers gave all they could in that 3rd period with the hawks sitting back trying to just hang on to the 2 point lead. yes they had lots of shots on goal.....however.....they only one that got through was a bouncing puck that might have hit a blackhawks stick just in front of Niemi. from that point of few many flyers fans have to be scared as well. all that effort and one cheap goal. yet they still held the front line down. at some point we know the front line will score in this series. the best way for the flyers to prevent that from maybe happening is to keep letting the second and third lines score of the hawks and lose in 4 games.

You're incorrect - a World Series championship plus a World Series appearance the following season, and the Phillies had done well the previous few seasons, plus the Eagles doing well over the past 5 or 6 seasons despite not winning a Super Bowl, plus the Flyers now playing for the Stanley Cup...gets an automatic silver.

Probably the most entertaining Stanley Cup Finals since the Rangers won in 1994. I hope it goes 7 games, with Chicago winning.

Sorry, one WS Championship does not make it a Silver Era. You have to win multiple championships to consider it a good era. Now if the Eagles had won a SB then you could make an argument, but all they did was have a SB appearence and that was awhile ago.
