Mint, never hinged and slightly off center- how rare is this stamp?

I ask in part because I was looking at a Heritage Auction earlier today and the Scott Catalog is $3,000- I assume that is for a well centered example- VF and higher

That value you found is for a rare shade variety (#834a red brown & black) rather than the normal carmine & black (#834) which catalogs $90. - off center, worth maybe $25.

I need to look at it again- would the Carmine example be more vibrant and lighter than the red browm?

Its not the red brown- I think I was able to figure it out
