Agreed on the Henderson as a case where the 10 doesn't feel like it should be worth 40x the 9. I haven't seen a 10 that looks fantastic yet. If I ever saw one that looked fantastic, I may change my tune. That particular card probably isn't leaving the facility as a 10 without getting everyone's stamp of approval so a Henderson that looks similar to a lot of commons that easily got out as 10s wouldn't get out because the name on the card is Rickey Henderson. Not sure how the 10s that got out did because the handful I've seen look underwhelming. I'm not sure there are many 10s sitting out there in packs because I think 4SC has opened a huge amount of them without shifting the pop much, if at all on that particular card. It's a very hard card to get in nice condition. Usually off-center, often with not so vibrant color. I've pulled some but they've all been far from 10s Steeped in politics. I would love to have a 10 because it is a great card of a great player and a great year. I think the better values exist in the strong 8 and 9s.
These are reasons why the 77 henderson is underrated in my opinion. Reportedly 400 Chong sets produced, and from what I've seen the centering is horrendous. Of those 400 sets, what number has survived, what condition are they in, and how is the centering? These are the unanswerable questions. But given the pops of these cards in PSA, SGC, BGS - not many are 8 caliber or above.
I have been looking for one of the 77 Modesto Hendersons for quite some time. Someone had a BGS 6 up for sale on ebay about a year ago and I couldn't come to an agreement with the guy. I am more of a Modesto collector, being that I live about 15 minutes away.
what happened to your ebay auctions? also why the multiple user names on here?
That's quite an interesting question coming from a member with a post count of 1..

would it be less interesting if i had 8000+ posts? i have been reading this forum for some time now but never had a real reason to join or post. much like in real life i am perfectly fine standing on the sidelines listening to others flap off at the gums, it's easier and a lot more entertaining. the reason i asked about the ebay listings is because i seen the 77 henderson listing had been cancelled along with the others cards from the (craigslist find) the op of this post and the op of the craigslist post had different user names even though it was the same person which is why i asked about the multiple names. PS: stay away from the 1985 modesto A's mark mcgwire cards 99.9% of the ones on the market are counterfeit/fakes (even the ones in the fancy plastic slabs) yes you read that correct.

The funny thing is that he warns everyone to stay away from the 1985 Modesto Mark McGwire card because 99.9% of them are fakes but in his little tagline on the bottom it lists that he is looking for that set and that card. Either he is trying to keep everyone away or he likes to buy fake cards.
Ok - is the current 1977 chong modesto ricky henderson psa 8 for sale a joke or what? I've seen 3 prices so far: $10k, $4k, $100k. If you're trying to really sell this card it's becoming somewhat of a joke.

wrong on both counts, i'm trying to keep people away from the fake singles and i am looking for original sets. ask psa why they slabbed 10,000 fakes.
