Auction in the FS threads?

Hey all,

I have some coins that I'd like to sell and I was wondering if it would be OK to have a forum based auction for my coins here.

For example, I was thinking of starting out the bids at spot plus shipping for a $50 gold eagle and let people put "bids" in the thread.

What do you guys think?

Is it allowed?

Do you think people would participate?

I think you would have to do it via PM's otherwise you would be bumping everbody off the page too soon.
Accept bids via PM and edit your post with the new winner as they come in and only bump it daily might work.

A spot plus shipping auction start for bullion is not going to see much action, IMO. Just offer it for what you want to sell it.
