Of course I'm gonna say my Tigers should go after him! We got some incredible talent down on the farm, and most of it is going to waste! Besides, I think the only way to contend with the Twins is to get our lacking rotation to go more than 5-6 innings of quality ball. I don't see Willis doing anything, and Galarraga, well, just ain't gonna cut it. The bullpen is awesome, but is being relied on too much to stay that strong. To at least stay in the wild card race, Detroit should make a serious run at him with all that extra, unused talent in Toledo.... Of course, if he ends up in Minny, it's over....again.... thoughts?

Also, Houston management is awful. Not only do they put out a crap team, but their farm system is among the worst in the bigs too. That's what always softened the blow of the Rays being awful, you had those prospects waiting in the minors. Down there it's just an epic fail all around.
Remember these Chuck Norris Facts
1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
<< <i>Oswalt not only approved a trade, but is begging for one and rightly so!! 2.66 ERA with a 2-6 record??? >>
I realize he approved a trade, but he still has to approve WHERE he will go.
<< <i>- even the big spenders are not as willing to give up prospects. >>
Famous last words. Seriously, there are several teams that, if they are in the running after the break and they have 1-2 struggling SP's or an injury, they will give up anyone at AAA to add a horse like Oswalt. Who has outstanding hitting and mediocre pitching that could benefit here? The Rangers are the first team that comes to my mind. They are 3 up in the West, but they will not be able to make a deep playoff run with that rotation, I'm sorry. I don't see the Yankees or Red Sox making a push for him, but the Rays could use him more than anyone else of the AL East contenders. Rangers makes the most sense to me.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

You're off, Goot. It's a long and complicated story and to be honest, I've re-written this post three times.
So cliff notes version -> Hunsicker comes in, makes great trades, keeps farm system full of talent, consistantly makes playoffs, signs some big name free agents, and becomes a world series contenter.
Hunsicker gets the boot, hires an inexperienced Purpopora, terrible/horrible free agent signings, makes even worse trades, owner lives in past, and don't sign 1-3 round draft picks.
Poopoo gets the boot, Wade comes in and trades our top prospect pitchers for an aged Miggy the day before the Mitchell report comes out, signs Carlos Lee to a $100MM no trade contract, picks up Woody Wilson on his way to picking up a retirement check...
Wait, now thinking about it, you're absolutely right.
