Same Coin 57 Grades Apart

I was going through my commemoratives and thought this was kind of cool.
One of my favorites, the California Commemorative.
The first is one I sought out long and hard and finally came upon one raw, surprisingly at an antique shop in Carlsbad. I sent it to PCGS where it graded GD06:

Personally, I think the design holds up well even with heavy wear.
Here is the same coin in what appears to be full PL (unusual for the California):

Together, I like the overall look these two humble coins provide:

Sunnywood--I get the same feeling when I'm around people I've known since my childhood. We're all "well circulated" and have plenty of stories to tell & retell, but when we reflect on our bygone physical prowess & looks, it's really quite sad.
I think PCGS missed the grade....looks more like VG08 to me

This is one of my favorite commems, CA's 75th diamond jubilee. The fields have a beautiful hammered look, the high relief 49er and grizzly are bold and not diminished by clutter. And well worn ones such as this G6 are a result of circulation during the Great Depression.
I think they're undervalued. But you could probably say that about a lot of commemoratives.
