Early Dollars and Morgan VAMs for Sale

E-mail me for pics at wpgrider@charter.net

(SOLD) 1878 8tf VAM 14.9 PCGS MS62PL...attributed. A white specimen that is fully struck and bordering on DMPL staus with frosty devices that produces a moderate cameo. Typical abrasions for the grade, but on singularily distracting marks. Would not hesitate to call this PQ for the grade. Asking $5,200.00. Check pops on this one....pretty sparse in PL and DMPL with a few more known in circulated grades. (SOLD)

(SOLD)19020-O VAM 26A PCGS AU58....an Utlra Rare specimen with only a few known with a doubled clashing. The obverse shows double clashing of a partial incused 'G' at the neck and the countered clash leaf tips on right side of leaf clusters. The trade mark raised ovaloid at the eye line and extreme double profile is also a characteristic of the LDS VAM 26A, which features this coin posess. There is no mistaking these characteristics and I am 100% confident that this is in fact a LDS VAM 26A. Asking $2,200.00. (SOLD)

1878-CC PCGS MS66 OGH Morgan Dollar with a 90 degree rotated reverse (or nearly so)... Blast white and fully struck. This coin does not posess any of the striations on the cheeck that plague this issue....in fact, the cheek is full and round. Very rare in this grade. Asking for greysheet ask of $5,600.00.

1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar PCGS VF30!

BB-13, B-9. Rarity-4

This mid-grade survivor is a completely original example of our nation's first Silver Dollar type. Both sides exhibit dominant "old-silver" patina to moderately, yet evenly worn features. On the obverse, there is also a crescent of bolder steel-gray toning along the right border that encroaches only minimally upon the center. The denticulation on that side of the coin is uncommonly bold for an example of this die marriage, and the major devices on both sides are well defined at the assigned grade level. Despite the level of circulation, luster is readily evident in and around the devices. Nos singularly distracting marks....just even circulated wear. No adjustment marks present.

B-9, BB-13, R.4. On this better die marriage, the third curl from the top turns downward and touches the fourth curl, and two points of star 1 touch the lowest curl. On the reverse, there are two leaves under each wing, and the berries are nine left and eight right. The present example appears to be from an early state of the obverse die, as the repunching on the top of the 5 and the right top of the 7 is clear. This repunching fades out on later impressions.

The Flowing Hair Dollar is the first silver dollar of the United States. It was minted in accordance with the Coinage Act of 1792during the second year of the United States Mint's operation. The coin only lasted two years and had a series mintage of about 162,000 coins. It was replaced in mid-1795 by the Bust Dollar.

Asking $7,300.00.
