...are people actually buying at this price, or is common date gold languishing?

Both buying and selling. Gold is always a tight margin market

not to get all abstract on ya, but i would submit that with any commodity there are an equal # of buyers to sellers (think about it)

true... over time, there are an equivalent number of buyers and sellers of any commodity. However, during periods of market adjustments, sellers typically try to make thier wares more marketable... ie: lowering price, etc... the housing market is a perfect current example. There are plenty of buyers standing on the sidelines awaiting price drops, more favorable terms... whatever. I'm just wondering aboutcommon date gold... stuff that typically is tied to the bulion price of gold... L

There are always people buying. Never a problem to sell gold at melt and for raw, common date stuff, that's usually what you get.
  • I'm shocked at how popular Gold is when the price is high when i bought some a $350 on oz a few years ago people were giving it away

Every year for a prize for our metal detecting club we need a $10 gold pre-1933 coin. If you actively sell gold and have common date stuff for melt, could you please send me a pm so I can speak with you by August about our purchase this year when we get ready to buy?

    Thank you.

I sold 2/3 of my gold at 1200 to 1345. Reinvested the cash in truly rare error coins. I would not buy Gold here.
